Mitchel Kriegman

Senior  art ADVISOR

Writer, Director, Producer Mitchell Kriegman is a multi-award winner with many of the biggest hit kids franchises at Disney, Nickelodeon, the Jim Henson Company to his credit, including Bear in the Big Blue House, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Book of Pooh, and Clarissa Explains It All. He was also a staff writer and performer on Saturday Night Live. Audiences around the world develop lasting relationships with his characters that live on for generations.

With a firm foundation in the arts and culture, he began his career as a performance and video artist in New York at Dance Theater Workshop, the Kitchen, La Mama and others. His audio work was the first featured in a Whitney Museum Biennial.

As a cri7c he writes about art and culture for Los Angeles Review of Books (LARB), the Santa Barbara Independent, the Four Two Nine and others. His short fiction has been published in The New Yorker, the National Lampoon, Army Man, Glamour, Between C&D, New York Press and Harper’s Bazaar. His novel Being Audrey Hepburn was published by St Martin’s Press.

Today he specializes in bringing story and character to new technology, allowing new ventures to seamlessly weave physical and digital worlds together - working with Disney’s Imagineering, Trumbull’s Entertainment Design Workshop, the Ian Schrager Company, Ed Schlossberg Design, DreamWorks, and others. He has lived in Portugal for four years.
